I Did That| Remake

Years ago I painted these superheros for my son’s superhero bedroom. Well now that he’s older he wants to redecorate. Out with the superheroes, in with WWE and gaming. So Batman and Captain America had to go but instead of getting rid of them, I remade them. Not to shabby, huh?

Here are the two together. I’m very proud of myself. My 6th graders didn’t get the apple but my 7th and 8th graders that did parody art totally got it. I first spotted the superheros on the blog I Am Momma….Hear Me Roar. She had them in her son’s room and when I saw them I thought, I can do that so I did. The paintings are based on illustrations by Michael Myers (not the Austin Powers). I really love the upgrade.

I Confess….Parody Art

I confess that right now, my 7th and 8th graders are creating parody art based on artist like Grant Wood, Edvard Munch, Leonardo Da Vinci, and other artists. I came across a blurb about this video and I had to share it with my students and now I have to share it with you. This video is simply amazing.

Easy Custom Design for Subscription Boxes|The Box

It’s FRIDAYYYY! And boy do I have a lot of stuff to do. So you guys know that I’m working on setting up my subscription box service. Kind of putting the cart before the horse but related. The We Are F.A.S.H.I.O.N. Studio-in-a-Box is made up of the kind of goodies and fun projects and lessons that you’ll see in the studio. All of it delivered right to your doorstep. Practicing my communication skills (my undergrad degree) and working on video tutorials to go with the projects in the boxes.

I’ve found some really cool fashion and sewing related products. I’m a great curator if I do say so myself. Right now I’m working on my box design and getting my goodies together for a prototype box. I mean I can tell you through my launch page how GREAT this box will be but until you see a sample for yourself you just don’t know.

Packlane, which I found through the site Subscription School, allows you to custom design your subscription. It’s really easy. A matter of just uploading your artwork to the 3D model box. I can’t wait to get my sample boxes. If you haven’t worked out your images yet, you can word sample boxes for 6.00 postage.

What do you think?! I get goose bumps looking at them. I can’t wait to have the samples in hand.

The Box!!

In the next few weeks, I’ll be gathering more goodies and revealing a prototype of the Studio-in-a-Box. If your interest is peaked, don’t forget to sign up through the Launchrock page. Happy Friday!

The Daily Suga’|The Dopest Wallpaper Ever

Not much I can say about this wallpaper created for Pipeline Philadelphia by Flavor Paper except for DOPE. Having spent four years in Philly (some of the best years of my life) and the fact that my great grandparents meet there (wouldn’t be here without them), I have to show much love to the city. Flavor Paper’s toile wallpapers are fresh (old school slang for good) but this one has got to be my favorite. The Roots, Hall and Oates and The Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff. What! Love it!
