The Creative Call| Never Stop Learning

“The quickest way to become an old dog is to stop learning new tricks.” -John Rooney

Hey all, just popping in for a quick post. I don’t know how long you’ve been following but in addition to blogging and writing a children’s book and working a full time job and being a mom and a wife, I’m also going back to school to get certified to teach art and family and consumer sciences. This semester I have four classes and this week has been really full which is why I’ve only been feeding you spoonful’s of suga’ every day. I have been planning some great posts but mostly I’ve been hitting the books, writing papers and lesson plans and taking tests

So my creative call for you today is to tell you to never stop learning and never stop improving yourself.  I’m 40 and I’m starting over. I’m a little bit nervous, a WHOLE lot tired of classes, but I’m also very excited about the future.

One of the best things that we should do for ourselves is to continue to learn. There are always new skills to learn and techniques for us to adopt. Some of the most successful people in the world understand that they don’t know everything and that they have to continuously learn to remain successful. Bill Gates attributes his success to his desire to never stop learning, not necessarily to being so smart. Now we could ALL take his advice because he’s doing alright. In order to really live life to the fullest, we must always be looking for opportunities to improve ourselves and our situations. No matter what you spend your time doing in life, you should never stop asking questions. By continually learning you increase your understanding of the world around you and you grow as an individual. Self-growth is key to living a fulfilling life. If you never stop learning, you will never stop seeing the possibilities.

On the way to work this morning, I heard this song and it kinda inspired this post. Enjoy!
