Old School Arts and Crafts Love: Lite Brite

1967 LITE BRITE Vintage 1960s Toy ALite-Brite was a technological wonder when it was first released back in 1967 by the Hasbro toy company. You created images by poking the colored pegs through the black paper on the screen, which made the pegs appear to illuminate from the light housed in the case.

I really enjoyed Lite Brite as a child and I was inspired to create a “faux Lite Brite” with golf pegs for my art room after seeing an article about a golf peg wall art project by artist Danny Murphy for Oak Park Public Library. That got me wondering how other individuals were inspired by this old school toy and I found some really cool things.
