Ok you guys know I LOVE Misty Copeland. I just admire her so much. She absolutely stuns in these photographic recreations of Edgar Degas classic art. Ken Browar and Deborah Ory beautifully captured the essence and beauty of both Degas work and prima ballerina, Misty Copeland. These photos will be appearing in the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar as a celebration of a new exhibition at New York’s Museum of Modern Art, called “Edgar Degas: A Strange New Beauty.”
The recreations are perfection and so are the fashions. Misty nails each pose in high fashion designs by Valentino, Alexander McQueen, Carolina Herrera, and Oscar de la Renta.
“Everyone has talent at twenty-five. The difficulty is to have it at fifty.”-Edgar Degas
The issue is out in March. If you’re a Misty fan like me, grab a copy or two.
“It is very good to copy what one sees; it is much better to draw what you can’t see any more but is in your memory. It is a transformation in which imagination and memory work together. You only reproduce what struck you, that is to say the necessary.”-Edgar Degas
