Hey all, I heard about Forbes 30 under 30 list while watching The Real today and it turned me on to Madison Maxey, who is on Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2016. Ok, wow. She’s fierce. She dropped OUT of Parsons and founded The Crated, a design and engineering studio that makes clothes that incorporate technology. I LOVE any one that shows the world that STEM and fashion are connected. And because I’m a clothing “engineer” on a slightly different level, I dig what she’s doing. She’s 22, ya’ll! Kudos, Madison.
Madison was awarded a 100,000 Thiel Fellowship provided to young people who want to build new things instead of sitting in a classroom, was funded by Google and worked with Zac Posen to create an LED light LBD (little black dress). Lupita wore IT!
Other notable honorees in the area of Art and Style are Lucy Jones of Seated Design, Aimee Song of Song of Style, Sarah Law of KARA, Natalie Herrera of High Gloss, Azede Jean Pierre and LC, Lauren Conrad.
